Simple to More Complex- This Continuum will help you know what to work on first, next, last with your students.
This continuum (from the Texas Center for Reading and Language Arts) shows the various skills included in Phonological Awareness. The concepts are listed from left to right, less complex to more complex. So start on the left and begin there! As your students begin to gain control of one area you can introduce the next skill (moving to the right). Within each of these skills listed there are a variety of easy to more difficult tasks to work on. I will add more details about this in future blogs. But here is the basic framework you need to get started.
